6. Abstract
: This paper is a feasibility study of the development of a hydrogen fuel-cell/battery hybrid train. The traction curve satisfying train specifications and the performance requirements are suggested. Based on the suggested traction curve, the energy flow between the components of the train is analyzed under the operating profile. In this analysis, the power transformation efficiency of each component is considered. Finally, the power capacity of the hydrogen fuel-cell and the energy capacity of the battery are investigated. In addition, the weight and volume of the hydrogen fuel-cell, battery and hydro-tank are analyzed to review the feasibility for developing a hydrogen fuel-cell/battery hybrid train.
